Resources for bereaved parents

If you are here looking for information because your baby died, I am deeply sorry and sending you so much love. Sometimes you have a few weeks, a few days, or only a short few hours to make incredibly important decisions. Below are organisations that I have found helpful here in New Zealand. SANDS NZ 

Sands New Zealand is a network of parent-run, non-profit groups supporting families who have experienced the death of a baby. We have over 25 groups/contact people around the country.

About Sands New Zealand

Government website which contains comprehensive Information for family and whānau experiencing the death of a baby or child. It covers miscarriage, stillbirth, fetal abnormality, newborn death, infant and child death and information for employers.

Baby Loss NZ

Baby Loss NZ supports hospitals, educates staff on the experience of baby loss, and provides 

support items for them to give to parents. Our main service is the Active Parenting & Memory Making Service including our Care Bags.

Offering affordable and professional counselling services and support to anyone experiencing any form of significant loss.
